In April 2023, Harvard senior Karina Cowperthwaite debuted her first original play "Ugly Feelings" at the American Repertory Theater's Loeb Drama Center. As writer, director, and actor, she explored the complexity of growing up multiracial.
"There are a lot of questions about racial belonging that I've asked myself throughout my life that I've never answered. This play is my attempt at asking those questions. All I can hope is that it creates a conversation beyond the theatre." -
